How Can I Overcome Stress and Lead a Happy Life

Happiness-no stress-happy

No, there are never enough advices on how to live life more happily. One of my favorite methods involve special keychain. No, it’s not one of those souvenirs you buy on a nice trip. My keychain is a peculiar token of mine. It actually says F*ck It! This is inspired by a book I highly recommend: F*ck It: The Ultimate Spiritual Way by John C. Parkin. Add it on your reading list.

Since I read this book I started saying “F*ck it” to many things. I have my keychain with me to remind me to say those words when I see increasing chances of some situation ending up very stressfully. It’s a very important philosophy of life to know how to let things go. I take a deep breath and say “f*ck it” because I realize I’m not willing to lose my emotional balance and general well-being over something that is simply not worth it.

Don’t take situations so personal

So this is how I lead now a very happy life. If you have any doubts on how I accomplished this, feel free to ask me anything about it. To sum it up, because I’ve grown used to this way of thinking, I live a less stressful life than before. I simply don’t take things so personal mainly because well, they’re just not. If you take life as it is, it’s more likely that you can’t feel reluctant to the situation you are in. Therefore, you are fine and content.

“Every moment has infinite potential. Every new moment contains for you possibilities that you can’t possibly imagine. Every day is a blank page that you could fill with the most beautiful drawings.”
― F**k It: The Ultimate Spiritual Way, John C. Parkin

Believe me when I say every single day my path is a happy one. There’s no other time like the present and to enjoy it completely is the best we can do. You don’t even have to expect anything in return, just take a look around and appreciate it.

F*ck it! I feel like I’m 20 years old

I am 38 years old. Of course I’m not as young as I used to be but let me tell you a secret: I feel like I’m 20! There is so much life in me.

People often ask me if there’s any time when I am not happy. They even ask if I’m on drugs. And my answer always is that I am “High on Life”. Take Jack Kerouac for example. He got fascinated for everything that he saw and the people that he met and he was willing to let that passion take him wherever the wind blows.

How many people like that do you know, that are that fascinated for life? How many problems do you think they have? Would you like to be one of them, to burn, burn, burn like roman candles?

Go after the things you love!

I go for the things that I like. Yes, it’s as simple as that. Why? Well, because it feels great to look for passion everywhere around me.

So whatever I find myself doing at the moment I do it with great enthusiasm. I deliberately find things to do that I am incredibly passionate about, such as traveling, cooking and dancing.

I am in control of my life.

I plan and explore things.

I learn about myself.

I don’t just put things to chance and sit down to expect how it will all turn out.

Instead, I take an active role in my own life.

Start by creating bucket list

“Die with memories, not with dreams.” This is something I take very seriously. I invest all my time and money into memories, not so much in material things. Bucket lists are great. I have a huge one and I tick those things off as fast as I can. And that’s how I make sure that I’m creating a happy life for myself.

[…] Stress is another important factor for unhealthy habits. I believe it’s one of the most terrible issues of our modern society because of all the problems it causes. If we are stressed in our everyday lives, we tend to go for the easy way out. And this means having a cigarette after a long day or going out to get drunk to avoid thinking of our problems. […]

[…] Plus, I carry tokens that serve as well as reminders. For example, I used to carry my favorite books about personal growth around. Even if I didn’t get the time to read them anywhere, the mere facts of having them near me helped. There’s a keychain that says “Fu** it!” in my pocket. Yeah, that’s another story. […]
