Reclaim your life by working smart instead of hard!

miha matlievski fail coach lazy co-worker

We all have stories about that lazy co-worker. I strongly suggest you don’t become one. It simply doesn’t add up – not to your bank account, not to your peacefulness and definitely not to your overall state of mind.

We’ve all been there. You have a lot of work to do and so does your lazy co-worker, but he or she just doesn’t give a f**k. In fact there is no need to get all stressed out about it.  If you are trying to impress your big boss you shouldn’t just jump into multitasking and work like a crazy robot!

Make that lazy-coworker envious and here is how!

With some simple tricks you will make your lazy co-worker jealous. One very simple solution is to work smart rather than hard. No need to work like crazy and make that lazy co-worker laugh (of course on the inside). Instead prioritise.

My advice to you is:

Focus on the important things and skip less important ones (you’ll take care of those later).

“All in good time” – Each task requires your complete attention, no matter how small it is. If your mind is elsewhere, the chances of getting the current activity wrong are bigger.

It’s all about scheduling! – If you can have a good time management, then you have it all. This way, you know what you need to do and when you need to do it. Make sure you can leave some extra spaces in the schedule just in case something goes wrong so you won’t run out of time. Also, remember you need to plan ahead for some time off to relax.

Make a checklist and learn how to say NO

Checklists always help. If you prioritise your activities, you’ll focus on each one of them as you tick them off and you’ll soon find yourself at the end of the list.

Learn how to say no. Otherwise, you’ll find yourself overwhelmed by things you couldn’t refuse. Know your limits. Check out my post about How to say “no”.

Don’t rush, no pressureTake time to think things through. If you need to solve a problem, time to think is a must. Or, let’s say you are trying to prioritise your activities. Take a deep breath and evaluate each point. Maybe right now you can’t imagine how much more you can do by slowing down – take a look at this blog post.

… And please, stay calm whatever happens

Being calm is how we make the best choices. One of the most important aspects of “work smart” is to know what you want but at the same time limiting your goals. You can’t take on the whole world. Start saying NO and have some rest.
